This is a regular problem with these cars.
Sometimes a battery disconnect works but then all the preprogrammed functions have to be reset.
I had this problem as well and after trying all the easy fixes a new replacement system was the answer.
My Radio worked fine but cd function did not. Ford will repair it also if you cannot find a replacement.
