Cool.....was wondering...i think I will just rebuild it.
One friend said float stuck....another said dirty needle.
Rebuild and a dip in the ultrasonic tank should solve it. When it happened. .at first confused me hard.

Had same thing happen on the Holley on my '64. In my experience, stuck float and dirty needle valve both could lead to gas flooding out of the overflow tubes.
 
Got the rebuilt carb on the car now. Changed out the points to electronic ignition. Adjusted carburator....had to change the oil as it had a bunch of fuel in it. . reset timing also....the car runs solo much better now. The floats were stuck....that was the issue.
