Does anyone use Amsoil Type F synthetic trans fluid for your power steering? Is it worth the $26 a quart to try to stop my ps whine in my 65 bird?
I have no experience with using a synthetic type F in power steering. I usually don't mix synthetics with my regular petroleum products. I don't believe that it will make any difference. The whining in my experience has been when I am low on PS fluid. If you want to try you may be on to something. Please let us know the result. I would caution that it may be best to completely empty the system of the old F before replacing with synthetic.
