What are our options if the original AC compressor goes out? Are they hard to get ? What have some of you others done in this situation?

Remember Ford made the 385 series engine from 1966 to 1996. 460/429 is the same engine. Difference is in the internals. The block is all the same with some slight variations in casting design and heads (though you can still plunk 429 heads on a 460 and vice versa). With that being said getting mechanical parts for the engine are still pretty much readily available. hell in most parts stores you can still walk in and get points. Heck the heads were made so universal you could swap them from one side of the engine to the other as they work either way.
