'66 Bird temp gauge question

UPDATE EMAIL ADDRESS
My neighbor has a '66 that apparently runs hot and we were both wondering what is the normal range on the gauge. He says that his needle settles between the "M" and "P" under normal driving. What temperature would that correspond to?
