I took apart the assembly on top of dashboard with both vent levers. The eyelets that hold the outer cable from sliding, are broken. If I buy the same style, the plastic eyelets will just break again. Any Ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated . Thank you, Dan ( Forest Hill, Md.)

it sounds like you have cables that are not operating smoothly. Remove the cables and use a dry graphite spray and work the cables back and forth. If you can take the cable out of the sheath, that would be even better. The plastic parts are probably breaking because it is taking too much pressure to get the cable to move.

Thank you, I will try that. ..I'm wondering if I use small engine throttle cables like for the choke. They use metal eyelets because plastic would melt against the heated engine.
