I need help documenting my '63 Sport Roadster's engine numbers. I know the basic sequence (C3#E) but want clarification on the 3rd letter. I know A is Passenger Car, M is Mercury, and S is Thunderbird, but want to know if "S" appears on the block, heads, and intake...or does it only appear on special parts like the exhaust manifold? I think I have seen "S" on an intake before, but not on a bock or heads. What would be the correct designation on a '63 T Bird block, heads, and intake?
Thanks, Mike.

Ahh, the joys of research and documentation. I've got an early '57 and it has a mix of '56 parts as the engineers were trying to improve and the material guys were trying to use up their inventory of old stock. As I was told many years ago, the first runs off the production line were a work in progress.
