Anyone have experience repairing a stripped bolt hole on 57 oil pan? Seems like I should be able to tap new threads.

just replaced mine. take the old drain plug to auto parts store, they will match you with a self taping over sized oil plug. just scrue it in, it will retread the bad treads on the pan. 10 minuet job

Helicoil for that size bolt. Napa will have them. Hopefully you can get a drill into that location.

Any one realize that the original posting was a year and a half ago?
Hopefully they fixed it. It can be really frustrating when people don't get back to us once they fix the problem. Get back to us.. we want to learn from your experiences. We are all eyes and ears as we know these cars are individuals and have their own personalities. Kinda like being married and having a demanding mistress. Well that's at least what my wife calls my car.
