My grandson came over and he was able to force the spring between the 2 metal tabs where it has to go it was really hard to do. The guy at Casco thunderbird said it is hard and you need 2 screwdrivers to get it on. One of our prongs was bent to far the wrong way and had to open up more to line it up. It is used to keep the door handle from dropping down.
It's little things like that that are a pain, but enjoying the feeling that things are working as designed is priceless. Good for you!
