55 & 56 Export Birds

Anyone seen them? I knew them in my youth and have stories about them.

The 55 was white with a black hardtop, the 56 was red with a red hardtop when we departed company.

They were both on the east coast near DC in the 70's

anyone?

One on Ebay about 18 Months ago...

Original GERMAN EXPORT BIRD... dont remember what it sold for....

Most of them left from the EAST COAST according to my research on these.

My 55 is a export Bird. It has German and US vin plates on it. That is all I know about it. midmomike
