2005 Telephone button on steering wheel

I have an 2005 Limited edition. Does anyone have "On Star" technology in their 02-05s? I see the little telephone on the steering wheel ?

On the 02's the telephone button is used to mute the radio.

On Star is GM.. Ford uses Sync but I don't think these were around back then.

yes it is the mute button. although on mine which has a bluetooth radio installed the button was changed to answer my phone or to use voice command to make a call
