05 I am hearing a static sounding noise coming from the instrument panel area at speeds above 65mph. Happens with or without the radio on so a bad speaker can be ruled out. Any idea what would cause this?

I experienced a "Buzzing" sound at speed over 65 that seemed to originated in windshield area. Turned out that the cowl cover (just in front of windshield) was loose due to fastener pins wearing out. The cowl cover gets removed when replacing cabin air filter so check that it is correctly installed. I tested by putting masking tape on the cowl cover and the "buzzing" disappear even at 80+ mph. I ordered new fasterner pins from Amazon but have not installed yeet.

I checked my cowl and also found some of the fasteners were broken so I ordered some new ones and replaced them. I also noticed that some of the visqueen plastic under the cowl was sticking out on the driver side. I tucked the plastic back under the cowl and never heard the noise again.
