2005 Key Stuck in ignition

I'm not able to remove key from my 2005 ignition switch. Car operates fine and will lock and unlock, but I can't get key out of the ignition. I tried manually moving gearshift in and out of park, turning the steering wheel left and right all while using brake pedal, but key still won't come out. Anyone have ideas?

Get a locksmith out to your place or driver over to one and have it removed. The locksmith can then check it out and lubricate or recommend a replacement. Good luck.

I'd use some silicone spray over WD40. It's a modest dielectric as well as a lubricant. I annually do all the locks and latches on our 2005 along with all the exposed rubber around windows, doors hood and trunk.

I would get a bit of lubricant (silicone) in and around the shift lever/slider as well. Mine was a bit stiff going into Park until I lubed it. It's happy now.
