2005 Convertible top jerky operation -

It rises just fine but when lowering it just drops in the last 8" any advise on what the problem is and how best to fix.
I live in the Houston area, any recommendations for a good knowledgeable shop for repair.

Your best bet might be to go to a well established trim shop that specializes in convertible top replacements.Short of that I’d probably do a thorough lube of all joints with a good penetrating lube not WD 40 be careful to isolate the joint with an old rag to avoid soiling the top itself by testing the spray can BEFORE you go near the car.
