I'm fixing to change my 2004 Thunderbird transmission fluid. It has 62 K miles on it. I saw the posting by Biddle on the Mercon V fluid and downloaded the TSB. I see Amazon has the Mercon V and is advertised as XT-5-5QM. It does not show the LC or LV on it anywhere on the front or back. Just says replaces Mercon V. So I take it s the good stuff. Also, how many quarts does the transmission pan hold? This will give me an idea of how much to get. I've heard overall the capacity is 17 but the lines and converter holds some as well. Do I have to get the friction modifier?
