Hey all, new owner of a 2004 Deluxe. I have a strange question. The previous owner put chrome (plastic, I think) trim on the taillight lenses. It covers the entire top of the lens and forms a rim around the rest. Not sure I like it and might remove them. I assume they are held on by adhesive, probably like 3M tape. Is anyone familiar with these and/or have any idea how to remove them without damaging the lens?

Everyone has a question, so put exactly what your topic is about as a summary. Your title "2004 Taillight question" has been revised.

Also posting a photo would probably help. Most 3m tapes are removed easier by heating them up or google that for tips

I also removed my rear chrome trim.........gently heated the adhesive areas with a heat gun while applying steady pressure and they came off w/o any damage. Yes, 3M tape is the adhesive.

Can we get some photos? All the chrome on the tbird is awful to begin with. I'm 3d printing parts to replace it all, but I'd like to know what your tail lights are looking like.
