2004 synthetic oil longevity

I have been using Motorcraft oil in the right viscosity because my parts store has it. If they didn't I would just use a top grade of the big name brands. Remember all oil starts as crude and the additives make the difference in them. These engines are not that unique.

2003. 8100 miles
2003-2005 models have variable valve timing and synthetic oil or blend is required to keep the centrifugal timer working.
Regular motor oil can cause it to stick or not work, especially if not changed regularly. I remember the tests run by
Mobile 1. They had some police cars and taxis run over 100000 miles with only periodic filter change and just oil added.
After the 100000 miles were completed, the engines were disassembled and measured for wear. All the engines were clean,
And had negligible wear. Almost same as new . The report stated synthetic oil will not mix with water and other pollutants,
but that the synthetic molecules surround the invasive molecules. I myself have only changed my oil twice in the last 17
Years, but only have 8000 miles or so on my car.
