2004 Radio diagnostic no sound

Hello, I doubt 2 speakers would go out at the same time. Looking at a schematic of the radio there are many common components to the L and R Channels and sorry to say it is probably the amp. To rule out the speakers they are easily tested with a 1.5v battery. Disconnect one of the speaker leads. Put the battery contacts across the speaker, if the speaker cone moves in or out, you will probably hear a thump noise, the speaker is good. If you choose to test the rear peakers also disconnect the capacitor before applying the battery. Do not keep the battery connected for more than a second or so.

I'm afraid you're probably right about 2 speakers both going out, but I don't really know when they went out., one after the other or both at once. From what I've read in another post, the radio unit powers the FR, FL, RR, and RL while the other speakers run off of discrete amplifiers. Looks like I have some disassembly work in my future. I'll have to dig up a schematic to verify these connections.
