2003 Thunderbird door open indicator light comes on intermittently while driving even when door is closed.

I was driving today in a steady rain on wet roads, and I noticed the "door open" light flashing intermittently.

This is the first time this has occurred. Has anybody ever experienced this? And if so, can you offer any advice? Thank you in advance!
 
That same light will come on when the trunk is open with ignition on....the trunk's spring-loaded, rubber-covered pushbutton for the light can get bent over or just plain not make contact. Bouncing along the road can make it cause intermittent contact too...

Dollars to doughnuts, that's your issue...
 
Maybe you can shim the offending switch?
 
Thanks to all that responded! As suggested, I lubricated all off the door latches and locks, and the trunk sensor switch, and no more warning lights!

I hope I can return the favor someday, much respect to you all!
