2003 Thunderbird. When I press the brake, the right side reverse light, lights up too. What could be the cause?

When you post again you need to use a brief subject, not a paragraph. Also, since this is an all Thunderbird site, you can omit the make & model of your car.

Have you done anything back there ?
Could that brake light be mistakenly plugged into the reverse bulb hole int he tail light housing ?

No, they both (stop and reverse) lights up at the same time.
How long have you had the car?

Is this something that started happening recently and did not occur in the past?

If you remove that side's trunk liner the entire tail light housing is secured by two nuts with one nut being on a very LONG bolt but you can get it off with a deep socket; then the housing just tips forward and I would examine it closely to make sure the bulbs are properly seated and there are no pinched or exposed wires. Posssibly clean up all the electrical contacts with some DeOxIt spary and make sure no stray wires are making contact where they shouldn't be.

Somehow that reverse light is receiving the signal from braking events. Does the reverse light come on with that side's turn signal active ? (Same bulb filament but different trigger event)
