I bought my solid red Bird new, But I have had paint swirl marks for a long time. I have clay bared, then rotary polished and waxed, and still had the swirl marks.

Last week I bought a new electric 10" random orbit Polisher/waxer by drillmaster. (Harbor freight) I used Meguirar's Ultimate Compound and it took three separate applications with 7 passes of buffing during each application to get rid of 99% of the swirls. After each application, I would drive the car out in the sun to see if the swirls were still there.

I then used Meguir's Ultimate Polish, with one application and 7 passes of buffing. Then applied Maguire's Gold Class liquid wax.
I did the deck lid and hood. Now I have to get more Compound and do the sides. (I had used the compound on my Cadillac first but it had so much metallic in the paint the swirl marks are very hard to see)

I have done the same thing on all my cars. I use a dual action polisher. Knowing me, I would burn through the clear coat using a rotary. I also use Chemical Guys VSS and an orange pad to remove the spiderwebs. I use their creme glaze to hide what is left and top it off with their ceramic wax, hydro slick. It makes the color really pop
