Those who may want a catch-can (air/oil separator) may find this a dandy spot to tuck a Mishimoto style in? The K&N kit allows space behind it. I glued a 5/8 hose barb fittings into the factory valve cover elbow to slip the hose over. K&N suggests using the 5/8 hose over the much larger Ford elbow once removed from the factory pipe. Crazy task as it's way too tight. The factory 'pipe' is not a PCV or any form of a check valve, it's straight through. I also glued up a 90 on the straight end testing Loctite 681925 and it bonds well. I used a Moroso can bracket, made the fender mount, and trimmed the K&N heat shield down an inch not to kink the hoses. Fits great and you can unscrew the bottom tank to empty it without removing anything. All work is reversible back to factory.

Separators only pass clean air to the intake. Keeps the throttle body and intake ports clean and prevents oil and carbon on the intake valves. Not recommended for winter use as they can develop ice crystals clogging the lines. They will produce 2-3 teaspoons of oil yearly and need to be dumped.
