I have a 2002 Bird which will not shift into high gear. All other shifting through the gears go smoothly. Has anyone experienced this problem and , if so, how did you correct it?

Grtlakesailor, assuming it’s either electrical or mechanical I would try this first. At the beginning of this year my 2004 was shifting between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in a “jerking” style and sometimes with a mild clunk. Also, it was delaying shifting from 4th to 5th. I disconnected the Pos/Neg cables and clamped them together for 60 minutes thus draining all the “learned” data from the Power Control Modular and also the other Modular’s which resets everything back to factory specs. After reconnecting the battery I had to reset the radio stations, recalibrating the windows & steering wheel position. My transmission shifts so smoothly in all gears now. No more issues. It’s at least a start in your diagnosis and it doesn’t cost 1 cent. Hope for the best. Merlot William.
