2002 rear suspension stabilizer link protective cap removal

Looking to soon replace the rear suspension stabilizer link. There is a protective cap on the top stud.
Two photos attached. Not sure how to remove the cap without breaking it.
Also not sure if these caps can be purchased?
Second photo shows the tab, not sure if need to press the tab in towards the stud or out away from stud before lifting the top section.

Saw no such "cap" over threaded stud on upper swaybar mount on my 2005 Tbird when I changed the items on my car. The rubber boots sure looked like your though!
