2002 Hardtop Electrical Connector

Can someone please tell me what this connector is on the underside of the hardtop. And what it does? And why it isn't on the pin that it apparently fits? And, does it matter that it is broken? Come winter I will put the hardtop on for the first time and didn't see this when I took it off. I am new to the Thunderbird family, obviously. Thanks in advance!

Welcome!! That is for the connection of the power to the hard top rear window defroster. There is another similar part on the hard top that it connects to. Finding some parts can be tricky. If your not worried about the defroster, wrap it in electrical tape and tuck it safely away until parts can be sourced.
