Pondering over buying, on EBay, chrome moldings for doors, front and rear tail lights.

My mom asked me about the idea, which I gave a thumbs down because the chrome, or stainless steel, is taped on, which in my opinion will peel off either in the hot summers, or from washing.

Anybody apply these ad on’s? If you did, what are your opinions?

Like Laura, when I bought mine, it had every cheap plastic chrome add on available. The quality of most of this bling does not even hint of coming with the car originally. Ironically, I have left the plastic chrome on the door handle while removing the ghastly surround. To each their own I guess.

Hi surf beat - I say keep it original and such. Jazzing it up with cheap aftermarket just degrades the beauty of the beast, eh?! Best to you.

Laura and Merlin made good points, “cheap aftermarket bling” that was eventually removed.

Took me a few minutes to figure out what “bling” meant, but I think I got the message, “ghetto crapola.”

I coined that term after watching an ad on YT that was hawking the chrome ghetto wheels and other ad on chrome parts.

The ad was 8 or 9 years old, but now the doors are closed.

Maybe so because there are not enough Burd owners to sell to, or the stuff is just “bling.”

Well, I had the chrome aftermarket rear deck surround on my 2002 to protect from hardtop scratches.
It installed with 3M tape in 3 sections, after years in the Florida sun that trim wasn't going ANYWHERE.

The rear deck surround is more of a functional paint protection item than a bling item. Its made from stainless steel and doesn't reek of cheapness. It is an item that looks like it could have come with the car. I have no idea when mine was installed, but it is still securely attached.
