This morning my 2002 Bird's dashboard was illuminating the images below, the speedometer was not engaging and the lights inside the car (under dash and on rearview mirrow) stayed on for 30 min. The mileage was completely gone. It was 37', I let her warm up, she drove normally. When I left everything was working but the inside lights stayed on the entire drive home and stayed on for 30 min after I turned her off.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Suzan

How old is your battery? It should have a date sticker. This could be the problem.

Have you checked the interior light switch to make sure it's not in the on position?

Video record the dash start up, upload to YouTube and then post a link here.

Read your codes/pending codes with an OBDII Reader. If don't have one, you should because it's a vital education tool for DIY and avoiding getting ripped off at the mechanic!

Anyone else chime in below. @doug7740 are you still around?

Anytime a warning light illuminates a fault code is stored in any number of the vehicle's control modules. It doesn't matter if the warning light is no longer illuminated, fault codes and freeze frame data is stored in the control module's memory. If you can tell me what fault codes are stored in the different control modules, I'll be able to help you with your concerns. Start by using a scan tool, not just an OBD code reader, to check for faults stored in all control modules.
