My wife has a 2002 with 41k miles which she got from her Dad, who purchased new. She's experienced many of the same problems in previous threads, and Ford garage had dinged her a couple grand in repairs before she even got 200 miles on it. It's an incidental driver for her, with just short hops around town of 10 miles or less. Here recently while approaching a 4-way stop the accelerator would not release. She jammed on the brakes and dropped it into Neutral and shut it off. This has happened twice now. Re-start, and all's well. She's afraid to back into garage for fear it would happen again, and she'd wreck something before she could take action. Any thoughts?
