1990 ignition coil ballast

So me and a friend are trying to figure out what's going on with my 1990 it starts and then stalls immediately upon starting we're thinking it could be the ignition coil ballast we are trying to find that part but cannot the part number when I decode it on the Ford website is different than what is on my part where I should have four numbers I actually have three numbers and a letter.
