Just bought a 1967 Thunderbird for $2,500 (Canadian) this car has been sitting since 2000, but seems to be in reasonable shape but needs work. Could not get under to check rust etc. but floor seems sold, and trunk floor seems solid. Did not try to start or turn over, oil in motor, transmission fluid good, radiator empty. New 390 5,000 miles ago, transmission rebuild 2,000 miles ago. Will take to mechanic to remove fuel tank and clean, check rad and fill, change motor oil, remove plugs and put little oil in cylinders, new battery, turn over motor by hand, reinstall new plugs, then try and start. Once running let warm up then change oil and filter. Anything else we should do?

What I need though is a window (2door) passenger side. Any idea where one can be obtained?

Thanks for any comments and/or information.

You need to go through the brakes. Completely. Master, booster, calipers and wheel cylinders, and all rubber lines.

If it has sat for 25 yrs., I'd consider tranny service, (fluid, filter), I'd consider diff. fluid change (fluid, gasket), I'd consider power steering fluid change (10-12 oz. fluid) and get some lube in tie-rod and ball joints asap and try not to turn that steering wheel no more than you have too until that motor gets running, turning the wheel without the p.s. unit running, it's hard on the rack without fluid movement.

And don't forget, once running many optional items that may or may not be on your 67 are vacuum operated. Once the master portion and lines connected from are revealed, many of the items that didn't work will operate with proper closed vacuum system. Good luck with your 67 and post more pics. Here's my 68 Fordor.
