Greetings,
I recently purchased a 1966 T-Bird as a project car. It has air shocks on the rear. I do not think this would be factory, but I am learning about this vehicle as I go. Has anyone else experience this with their T-Birds. Could be the leaf springs started flattening out because of vehicle weight. I would prefer to go back with a standard shock. Any insight would be appreciated.

Monroe or KYB should be easily available for the rears. Never any factory air shocks offered on theses cars.

air shocks were a pretty common modification in the 70's. Friends were putting them on pretty much everything.

Don't know about the flairbirds but I've seen comments from several people who used air shocks on baby birds and thought they worked fine. Don't use a t-fitting, use separate inflation lines for each shock even if you use the same pressure in each. T-fittings make handling on curves worse.
