1966 convertible trunk seal

I sorry that I don't know the correct terminology, but I'll try. When the top is up, there is a flap that folds under the trunk lid. Along the leading edge of the flap is a rubber seal. Mine has come off. Although the rubber seal has a channel to fit over the lip, it is too loose to stay in place. How is this usually attached? Adhesive? What type? I can't really see any remains of adhesive still in the channel, but the channel isn't very deep so I'm guessing it wasn't just pushed over the lip of the flap and expected to stay in place.

Nevermind, I just found my mistake. I thought the seal attached to the flap since that is where I found it hanging loose. I now see it is meant to stay in the channel on the body and it had inadvertently stuck to the flap and was pulled out of the body channel.
