Hi Has anyone swapped the 390 for a small block and how about the mounts are there any ones you can buy?

Hi, I'm new here. I can't answer your question. I'm a Pontiac guy but my Dad and I share a '66 T-bird. Well, actually he drives it and I fix it. I've checked into engine swaps because our 390 is kinda tired. What I read many, many times was that a small block Ford is not the best choice for these boats. It's a matter of torque, just food for thought. Another issue that I ran into with other engine swaps is that you could end up needing lighter front springs if the small block you choose is a hundred pounds or so lighter.
