my 64 door ajar light stays on when both doors are shut. can't figure out why. this is a new problem that developed and I'm tired of disconnecting the battery because of drainage. thanks for the help, Larry.

The actuators (switch) for this are integrated with the door latches. It’s a design that’s prone to gumming up when 50 year old grease attracts dirt, fuzz, etc. Somewhere along the journey people often sprayed lithium grease in there which helped temporarily and then gummed things up even worse. Big mistake.

The secret is this: the whole unit is made from solid brass and was made to work with no lubricant at all. You should take out the whole latch (both) and clean it with solvent until it’s bright shiny brass all over again. Don’t adjust anything. I bet that'll solve everything.
