My 1963 Thunder bird is running an MSD Ignition-6A box. Don’t know why (Car was Bought 3 months ago) had the car running to warm up, it started to shut down like when running out of gas, I put in some gas and it will not start, I check the coil and spark plug wire to spark in either one. First question any ideas on how to diagnose and fix? Second question do I really need the MSD setup? Thank you all for your advice.

Hello this is Benicio, Sorry miss typed. I meant to say that I checked the coil and spark plug wire to spark. No spark in either one.

Benicio, you can find wiring diagrams for the MSD 6AL boxes online. I believe the red wire input to the MSD should be receiving 12v for the system to work. If it isn't, then possible culprits include the ignition switch or the power wire from the ignition switch to the ignition.
