Hello gents & gals

Has any one installed Disc brakes in the rear wheels, if so, what was the difference in the stopping power compared to drum brakes, The reason I ask is I am interested in installing Disc brakes, it seems that all of the web sites I have visited are promoting the rear disc brake conversations. Thank you for your input.

I have not done the Disc brake conversation yet. just need to get feed back on if the rear brake Disc conversation will work as good as the front wheel Disc conversation? As a lot of the web sites and auto parts sites are promoting the rear disc brake conversations.

Thank you all for your input.

Hey Ellobo53. Makes sense that the auto parts sellers promote four wheel disc brake conversions. But I'm thinking that if the front brakes do 80% of the braking, then going to discs on the rear doesn't add much considering what it costs.

I recently made the decision to stick with four wheel drum brakes on my '64 after my mechanic replaced the booster and MC and adjusted everything. It stops on a dime and for the kind of driving I do with that car, it's fine.

I have a 64 Convertible. I started with a front disc kit from Concours. It was great,?but I wanted more. Bought a rear disc set up for 9” ford from summit. T then installed a master cylinder from a 2006 Corvette. It stops like a new car.
