I have purchased a new gas tank kit for my car. I have read about insulators for the gas tank. Is there a rubber insulator(s) on top of the tank? Are there supposed to be insulators that go between the tank straps and the tank bottom? I have read that the electrical grounding of the sending unit needs to go through the tank through the straps. ( thus no insulators between the straps and tank?). Any thoughts on undercoating the tank itself?...

Well I'm building my 59 and I will undercoat the tank and insulate between the straps and the tank. Seems to me a better way to make a better job so why not. All wiring will be protected. seems like a no brainer.
