Going to install a rear sway bar.
Looking for members experience with what brands and how they have performed.
Thanks
Roger

I have matching front/rear Hotchkis tubular sway bars and Bilstein shocks on my 1955. Larry's is the exclusive distributor of the Hotchkis Tbird bars. I had no difficulty installing the bars, using the included Hotchkis installation instructions. Unfortunately, my car is still under restoration, so I can't tell you how ride/handling will be affected.

Now that my ‘56 is 16” in the air, I looked under the front and rear and do not see any sway bars. Is it that they are not a standard part on the car?

Have you already installed a heavier than stock front bar? If not you should put a heavier front bar up front when you add a rear bar. Just the heavier front bar may be all you need depending on how you intend to drive the car. The rear bar is not needed unless you plan to do some fast cornering. I bought both front and rear addco heavier bars but have only gotten the front one installed. The car handles great with just the heavy front bar and I may never bother with the rear bar. I have put the same kind of rear bar on a couple Pontiac Firebirds and the mounting system isn't great. Since it isn't welded to the axle it has a tendency to walk if you actually put the car thru turns hard. The heavy front bar mounts just like the original and doesn't have any problems like that.

@jimntempe . Your brake booster video was spectacular. Not done any suspension work yet. Since December my focus has been engine and interior. Those are nearly done and brakes are coming up as the days permit. Not a fast cornering plan for driving for me…more like, grab a burger and run to the shore with the top down. My fast days are over LOL

Great details, thanks

Checked out my stock sway bar today… compared to the one I bought online today, the stock bar is much much smaller diameter … looks to be about 40% thinner
