Posting Parts Wanted/For Sale & Discussion in Wrong Forum
When upgrading to a new radiator, you will find that the new radiator uses metric fittings, while the transmission cooling lines use standard (imperial) threads. The common workaround is to use two adapter fittings to connect the lines, but this increases the overall length, making it nearly impossible to reattach the cooling lines securely. This can lead to poor sealing and potential leaks.
The solution is to use a dual-threaded brass fitting that matches the original part’s length, ensuring a proper fit and seal.
However, I was told that such a part does not exist. I searched Thunderbird parts suppliers and was unable to locate such a part.
Very well, I was going to have one made. In searching for a manufacturer, I was directed to the exact part needed: Industrial Parts Fittings https://www.industrialpartsfittings.com/search?search=248x5x4
This is the solution. I ordered and installed the part and it functions flawlessly.
