1957 hard top removal help

hi i just purchased a 57. i want to remove the hard top but when i release the rear latches the retaining posts seem stuck.,and i dont want to force it . should these latches be released to the 90` position or a full 180` before lifting the top?

If all the latches are loose, then the rubber seals are just stuck to the body.
