1957 hard top removal help

hi i just purchased a 57. i want to remove the hard top but when i release the rear latches the retaining posts seem stuck.,and i dont want to force it . should these latches be released to the 90` position or a full 180` before lifting the top?

180 degrees, handle to face centre of car in both sides

No problem, just got my 57 last week and wrestled with the hard top myself.

If all the latches are loose, then the rubber seals are just stuck to the body.
