Recently a leak has developed when I fill the gas tank close to full. I'm uncertain if it is coming from the tank vent tube connection to the filler neck vent tube or from the filler neck insertion to the gas tank. Before the leak 1st occured I had jacked up the passenger rear side of the car. I wonder if this could have caused the filler neck to partially pull away from the tank.
Looking at my filler neck there is a metal flange integrated on the neck and it is about 1-2 inches away from the gas tank insertion point. I'd post a photo but the car is now stored for the winter an hour away.
I'm hoping someone will take a picture of the filler neck to gas tank connection and share it in this post. Seeing one connected that doesn't leak well help me determine where to look for the source of mine.
Thanks.
