My vacuum advance on my 1957 312 single 4 barrel does not hold a vacuum.
My Distributer is a FEJ-12127-A2 which appears to be correct original part.
The Vacuum Advance has a straight arm and I think the replacement is B7A-12370-A based on what I have been able to find online anyway.
I cannot seem to find one of these, so what are my options? Thanks for the help!

You may have a ripped diafragm inside the distributor vacuum actuator.
This actuator is available, generally, via Ebay...
Nevertheless, I installed a complete electronic (no points) distributor which operates much simpler and the spark is much more reliable.
Let us her how your issue evolves

Thanks for the reply - Definitely a bad diaphragm in there. So I have a Pertronix electronic ignition in this existing distributor, but I’m assumed all it really does is eliminate the points. Is there more to your setup? While I lean to purist on my old cars I would be ok with modernizing a bit more if I could drive this car more often with less issues (overheating which I read could come from no proper advance happening). Thx for the info this newbie appreciates it!

Patronix is a good setup as long as your classic distributor (now upgrades) works as expected.
Replace the entire vacuum device, it is found in Ebay
Thx - I’ll reach out to them, but if that pic is what the part looks like it won’t work with my dist. My Vacuum advance has a straight flat piece of metal with a hole in the end that attaches to the distributor plate where a small dowel slips into the very end and locks on. I included a pic here. Thx again!

Very well
In the Ebay pics, there is a yellow card for the vendor.
Write to these guys, they specialize in finding classic NOS parts and can help you find the real one.
Good luck
