What size wide white wall radial tires are best fit for a '56?

Having gone thru this problem, someone had given the German Resignation the wheel size 15X6 tire 215,/75R15,, this combination doesn't 'work at all with the fender skirts. Original Ford Rims 15X5 offset 0.62 inches Page 357 Table 1 Ford Shop Manual with 205/75R15, no problems with steering and no problem getting the fender skirts on.

Given that the first number is the width of the tire the next number is the ratio of height to width it gives you more clearance. If the overall circumference Is close to the original size that should maintain the speedo accuracy.
