1956 fuel line diameter/fittings for new flares

I've been searching on how to repair that "more curves than a mountain road" rear fuel line connector that is stripped/worn out. What's the recommended fuel line diameter, material, and fitting/connector size (6an, 8an, or...?) for the new flared fuel lines I will make? My fix will be 6" max in length. Send possible vendor or Amazon link in reply please.

All fuel lines are 5/16. Exact fit fuel lines are available from the TBird parts vendors. Fittings are inverted flare for 5/16 lines. The flares should be a double flare. Remember to put the fitting on first before you flare.They are not AN. Metal lines, steel
