Have any of you documented via photos or video the windshield installation procedure?

You would be wise to contract with a local Company that installs windshields! Curved glass can be difficult at times and easy to break!

I am trying to determine the how the process is completed correctly so that I can gather the parts and pieces as a first step. I am a bit confused about the "clips."

I don't think it has been discussed much on this site but the information is out there.
The clips just slide to the side and what I remember all the chrome trim around must be removed except the bottom trim which must come off with the gasket and fitted to the new gasket before installation.

I like how Gil puts it on pg 265 when he says if you don't know what I mean at this point you need to consult professional help. It's been more than 40 yrs since I removed the windshield. Found these pics that show the clips. (Now I remember, and I know where I stored them.)

Here is an observation that could be of help. These sets of lower outside trim are all relief cut differnetly, however they are all similar in shape except for the outer piece on the right, it is lacking a releif cut so it doesn't arc as well as the others. I will cut this one if I use it.

I found 7 of the #03180 clips in my stash, I don't find reference to them being used anywhere else on the bird. I wonder if more is better? Hill's shows 5 used.

On to polishing

This illustration from the shop manual shows side moulding clips that I don't understand yet.

Looks like there was 7 of the 03180 retaining clips in the top moulding.

Today I was told that the 6 holes in the tabs on the top molding are not used for screws to attach to the windshield frame, that they are not used for anything at all. I am hoping that some of you that have installed this molding will tell me what they know about this. I am finding it hard to believe they are not used for anything. My bird is in the shop for paint so I can't look for holes in the frame.

After talking with one of the shops yesterday while shopping for parts: "No side clips."

Has anyone installed screws in the tabs of the upper molding?
