Just checking to see if anyone out there has swapped a T-5 transmission in a 1955 or 1956 Thunderbird?

When I restored and modified my 55 I installed a Blue Print 5.0 rated at 390 hp and a T5 speed. I already had a 9" in it with 3.73 gears. It was fun to drive because you couldn't use 5th till you were over 50 mph.But it's so great when at highway speeds there was so little engine sound and I had turbo mufflers behind the 390 hp. One other note of importance. The X frame was cut out of my car before I bought it,flanged and BOLTED back in.What a difference on the install. Good Luck to you on your conversion.

This year I’m installing disk brakes, a front end suspension kit, and sway bars. Next year I hope to install a Tremec TKX 5-speed. It is slightly smaller than the T5 so theoretically easier to install. But both are relatively easy.
