Does anyone have a somewhat easy way to align the soft top. I have wrestled with it while reading the shop manual. But there must be an easier way. Can anyone HELP.?

I’m doing the same thing on my 57. I was told to lossen all brackets, remove the spring on the swing arm that bolts behind the seat than install. Once installed use vice grip to get the spring back in place. Once aligned tighten all brackets. Good luck.... aloha walt

Just bought my 1957 which has a hard and soft top. I put the soft top up today. It is new Hartz canvas. The frame with swingbar looks new and unused. However at the rear of my electric windows there is 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap. The one thing that stumps me is that the right center latch is so far to the back it does not even catch the hole it is supposed to. Any ideas on this, let me know. Also if anyone know any specialist to adjust in North New Jersey Morris County?? Also is this considered an upholstery shop issue or mechanical? Keith

The installation of the top is not easy. I installed the top on the car, with the pin between the swing arms and top removed. Then I moved the swing arm around to get the pin holes to line up to install the pin. Not easy to do. Line up is still not perfect but it all works
