I am looking for advice and or constructive criticism on what I require to restore the cooling system of the 1955 Ford Thunderbird I inherited from my father to a more factory appearance.
Some history: The original engine was previously replaced with non-Thunderbird 1956 Canadian 292 Y Block (CECK 6015A). However, the "surgeon" did not incorporate the Thunderbird thermostat housing, water pump, generator bracket, radiator, and fan shroud from the Thunderbird but used the parts from the donor engine.
Since the Thunderbird has a longer engine bay, I have ended up with an awkward looking setup where the fan is not inside the fan shroud and the fan shroud had to be hacked up to allow the upper rad hose to be connected.
To restore a factory - like appearance, I plan to purchase the following parts:
1) Water pump) likely a high output unit from CASCO)
2) Water pump spacer.
3) Thermostat outlet (no 90 degree bend).
4) Radiator
5) Fan Shroud
6) Radiator mounts.
Advice and comments are greatly appreciated!
