1955 Car stalling only in drive after oil change

I recently chcanged my oil and oil filter on my 55. Nothing was wrong with the car prior to this. I used 10w-40 oil. The car was on jack stands only on the front end for about a week and a half. Gen light is acting strange. Flickers after startup in neutral, park and drive. When in neutral, it sharply drops rpm's once getting to 2000rpms but recovers and pushed passed if I keep my foot on the pedal and no stalling in neutral. In drive I can put slight pressure on the gas but too much pressure it will cut off immediately, usually around 1000 rpms. I tested the battery and it was fine. 12v converted 55 tbird automatic transmission.

Current known problems:

Radiator overflow tube snapped off top of radiator

Trans fluid is low but not empty

Accidentally put too much oil in originally but let out the excess.

It seems like you have several problems that are unlikely to be related. If I understand this correctly, the car ran perfectly before the oil change, but after you are having problems. I do not understand the drop in RPM in neutral. Are you saying that you leave the car at idle in neutral and without doing anything the RPM drops? When you put the car in drive, can you get it to continue running if you very slowly step on the accelerator? Are you using a ballast resistor for the primary ignition system?

It is always difficult to diagnose cars without seeing them. But a few things to check. Make sure that all of the low voltage wires to the coil and distributor are tight. Look for any fraying or cracking of the insulation on those wires. Make sure that all of the high voltage ignition wires are seated in the distributor cap and coil.

as for the generator light flickering, that is normal if the RPM is low. As long as it goes out when the engine is as at cruising speed you should be OK. You can check the voltage at the battery at idle and it should be between 13-14.5 volts.
